Vivir Quintana
Mexican, singer-songwriter and activist, Vivir Quintana, will be visiting the U.S. for the first time and accompanying La Santa Cecilia during some of their tour dates in the U.S. including their show on Oct. 31 at The Wiltern. Vivir is a well known artist singed to Universal MX / Fonovisa from Coahuila, MX and very loved by many in the music community. Last december she joined Caifanes on stage in CDMX at their show to perform her song, ‘Canción Sin Miedo’, which over the years has become an anthem sang worldwide at women’s marches. Her lyrics are powerful and supporting of women. She’s not your typical música mexicana artist and the only one who speaks and sings about femicide in Latinamerica.
In recognition of her artistic career and socially conscious message, the Latin Recording Academy announced last week that Vivir will be recognized as one of the top female artists in the music industry, celebrated for the profound impact of her work during this year’s Latin Grammy week.
Her latest single, “Al Tiro,” released on Sept. 5, is the second preview from her upcoming album ‘Cosas Que Sorprenden A La Audiencia.’ The song addresses the urgent realities many women face regarding self-defense, making her performance not just an artistic event but a meaningful exploration of social issues.
