TikTok Hero Helps Latino Street Vendors

The rising platform TikTok has taken over the US, and soon the whole world; however, it’s much more than funny dog videos and DIY videos. It can be used to help people in need as well.

Jesus Morales, son of Mexican immigrants, who also goes by his TikTok handle @Juixxe has donated thousands of dollars to street vendors with the help of his followers’ donations. Living in LA, there are some staples that come with the city such as the Hollywood Walk of Fame, Universal Studios, LA Traffic, and the countless amount of street vendors that give you amazing food like bomb elote and delicious tacos.

Unfortunately, many of these vendors are undocumented and work all day just to make ends meet. In addition, there has been a rise in videos showing some of these vendors being attacked. To put it simply, these vendors live through tough conditions. 

In comes Jesus, who, after losing his job in 2020 due to COVID-19, decided to make videos for TikTok. He didn’t know what exactly to do, but he did know he wanted to help make the world a better place. He wanted to help the Latino immigrant community, specifically local street vendors. After making a video where he asked for money to help those in need, people sent him the donations and he began to change lives. He now searches for random street vendors and gives them money ranging from $1000-$2000.

Don’t worry Jesus aka @Juixxe makes sure that the vendor is safe. He hands them the money in an envelope and doesn’t show their face unless the person wants to. He also posts the videos days to weeks after they are recorded. This is all done to ensure the safety of the recipients from getting robbed. @Juixxe has traveled from LA to San Diego to San Francisco to help vendors. Due to sponsorships, he has now made this his career and has made it his life mission to better the Latino immigrant community.
