The Two Break Out Stars of Mayans M.C. Get Real A.F.

This season of FX Network’s Mayans M.C. was considered by many to be its best. Among the bright spots for this gritty, Latin-led series was two break out stars – Momo Rodriguez (“Steve”) and Justina Adorno (“Nails”). The new characters to the Mayans M.C. universe, were scene stealers. And what is next for these two talented Latin performers is assuredly more opportunities in even bigger roles to come.

Throughout the show’s third season, viewers have been able to follow along not only with the action but the love stories that are developing. While EZ (JD Pardo) and Gaby (Sulem Calderon) are front and center, other relationships are slowly forming as well, adding more depth to each character and giving more spins to the storyline, which is what Justina’s Nails character did, as she threaded the needle through a volatile love triangle in her interludes with Angel (Clayton Cardenas).

In an exclusive interview on LATV’s Checkitow podcast, Justina Adorno details how her character Nails is not only relatable but the kind of complex character she has always wanted to play, while Momo’s Steve character tugs at our hearts, as he just never seems to get his life straight. The two also give intimate and moving details about Steve’s (SPOILER ALERT) scene and how they both had to keep their s*** together and not break character. It got that intense.
