Shia LaBeouf’s The Tax Collector Co-Star Talks Hype and Controversy

The Tax Collector, starring Shia LaBeouf and Bobby Soto, directed by David Ayer, is making a lot of noise. And with the hype, comes controversy. What do you expect? It’s 2020 and everything has to be an issue. All good, we get it. And so does everyone involved with this buzzworthy summer film.

We had the chance to catch up with one of the film’s stars, Cynthia Carmona, who plays the ride-or-die wife to Soto’s gang-banging protagonist. She has plenty to say about how the cast and crew felt about the film, its portrayal of Los Angeles’ Chicano underworld, and most of all, her thoughts on Shia’s performance as a white-boy-turned-cholo-gangster.
