The Courtship’ – A New Dating Show with a Twist

Are you one of the many women who think men these days don’t know how to court you properly? Then you are going to love the new unscripted NBC show, The Courtship, in which a beautiful and talented bachelorette is teleported to the era of “the gentleman,” where 16 very courteous gentlemen will try to win her heart. Bridgerton meets The Bachelorette: Enter The Courtship.
A very different dating show housed in a castle on a beautiful backdrop of rolling hills, the heroine and suitors will experience life exactly as the royalty of the olden days did. From carriage rides and masquerade balls, to archery, fencing and handwritten letters, Nicole Remy and her pursuers swap modern-day sensibilities for grand, courting gestures of the past.
The suitors would not only need to court Nicole, but also her entire “Court,” aka her family: her father, Claude; her mother, Claire; her sister, Danielle; and best friend, Tessa. As Nicole’s advisors, the Court chooses dates for her and helps uncover which suitors truly deserve her.
Each week, there is a farewell ball where Nicole reveals whether their journey in romance continues or they should get in their carriage and scurry back to the modern world.
Out of those 16 very strong candidates, two of them happen to be Latinos: Achilles Diaz and Lewis Echevarria.
Lewis is a Miami native raised in the Dominican Republic, who moved back to Miami at twenty-one to play professional baseball. He impressively went on to become part of the NY Mets minor league, but sadly had to give up his dream of the major leagues due to injuries.
Achilles is a Dominican who at age three came to the U.S. with his single mother and two brothers. His Hispanic background was very much an influence in his upbringing.
I don’t know about you, but I cannot wait to see how this experience will unfold!
