Lupita Nyong’o, Penelope Cruz and Edgar Ramírez Star in ‘The 355’

A great team of female stars come together in an exciting and original take on the international spy genre in The 355. Spanish actress Penelope Cruz, Mexican-born Lupita Nyong’o, Oscar®-nominated, Jessica Chastain, and Diane Kruger are coming to protect the world in this installment alongside Venezuelan actor Edgar Ramirez and Romanian-American actor Sebastian Stan.

When a top-secret weapon falls into the hands of mercenaries, the unpredictable CIA agent Mason “Mace” Brown must join forces with the tough rival German agent Marie (Diane Kruger, In the Fade), the Former MI6 ally and computer expert Khadijah (Oscar® winner Lupita Nyong’o) and skilled Colombian psychologist Graciela (Oscar® winner Penélope Cruz) on a dangerous deadly mission to rescue her, as they try to stay one step ahead of a mysterious woman, Lin Mi Sheng, who tracks his every move.

As the action unfolds across the globe from the cafes of Paris to the markets of Morocco to the wealth and glamor of Shanghai, the four women will develop a tenuous allegiance that could protect the world —or kill them.

The 355 is directed by filmmaker Simon Kinberg (screenwriter, director and producer of Dark Phoenix, producer of Deadpool and The Martian, and screenwriter and producer of the X-Men films). The script is by Theresa Rebeck (NBC series Smash, Trouble) and Kinberg, based on a storyline created by Rebeck.

The 355, presented by Universal Pictures in association with FilmNation Entertainment, was produced by Chastain and Kelly Carmichael for Chastain’s Freckle Films and by Kinberg for their company Kinberg Genre Films. The film’s executive producers are Richard Hewitt (Bohemian Rhapsody), Esmond Ren (Chinese Zodiac) and Wang Rui Huan.
