Speed Takes Over Latin America: The Wildest Moments from His Tour

Darren Watkins Jr., better known as IShowSpeed, took a crazy tour across Latin America in January 2025. Famous for his larger-than-life personality and unexpected antics, Speed offered his fans loads of memorable moments. He traveled through Colombia, Guatemala, Ecuador, Panama, Chile, Uruguay, Argentina, Peru and Paraguay, live streaming his escapades to millions of viewers. During his trip, he embraced local traditions, met people from each area, and even got into some trouble. Let’s dive into the most outrageous moments from his trip!

Peru: Becoming Mayor for an Hour

In Lima, Speed met with the city’s mayor, Rafael López Aliaga, who jokingly made him “mayor for an hour.” He also got an official title as a tourism ambassador. Speed explored the city in a carriage, tasted local dishes like ceviche, cuy chactado, pollada, and Inka Kola, and even shouted a political protest slogan without realizing what it meant. His stream in Peru hit 500,000 live viewers at its peak.

Colombia: The Cornstarch Incident

In Cartagena, Speed got involved in a local tradition where people throw cornstarch at each other. But in a hilarious misunderstanding, he thought it was cocaine  and freaked out on stream. His reaction had everyone laughing, and the clip spread across social media instantly.

Guatemala: A Backflip on ‘The Hand of God

While in Guatemala, Speed visited the famous ‘Mano de Dios’ structure, a massive hand-shaped platform. Without hesitation, he did a backflip off the edge, shocking his viewers and proving once again that he’s always up for a crazy stunt.

Ecuador: A Wild Ride on the ‘Gusanito’

During Speed’s visit to Quito, he took a ride on the ‘gusanito,’ a small tourist train known for its sharp turns. He called it “the best train ever” and couldn’t stop laughing. He also sampled local foods like encebollado, cuy, and salchipapa. Fans gifted him jerseys from local soccer teams, including Liga de Quito and Emelec.

Panama: Martial Arts Showdown

In Panama, Speed faced off against a professional karate fighter. He trained a little before the match and even managed to score a takedown. The friendly match ended in a draw, but it showed his willingness to dive into local activities.

Uruguay: A Boxing Challenge

While in Uruguay, Speed joined local streamer Urugodd for a boxing match at Parque Rodó. He sparred with professional MMA fighters, showing off his competitive side. He also toured Ciudad Vieja, visited Peñarol’s stadium, and tried an authentic Uruguayan alfajor.

Argentina: Police Trouble and a Stolen Earring

Speed’s trip to Buenos Aires was quite eventful. On his 20th birthday, he got pulled over by the police for riding a motorcycle without a helmet. Later on, during a live stream, someone snagged his diamond earring. Even with all the drama, he enjoyed soaking in Argentinian culture—scorching his tongue on mate, devouring choripán, and getting a special VIP tour of Boca Juniors’ stadium, La Bombonera, alongside their most die-hard fans.

Paraguay: A Prank Gift and a Brief Stay

His time in Paraguay was brief, but definitely full of surprises. A fan gifted him what appeared to be a brand-new MacBook Pro, yet when he opened the box, he found two bananas and a note saying, “Welcome, monkey.” As if that wasn’t wild enough, he later discovered snakes inside the car that was meant to drive him to Brazil. Before heading off, he tried tereré, a traditional local drink.

Brazil: Iguazú Falls Adventure

Although he mostly passed through Brazil, Speed visited the famous Iguazu Falls. His trip was short, but fans were excited to see him in the country.

Chile: Acrobatics with ‘Sensual Spiderman’ And A Close Call with Fireworks

In Santiago, Speed encountered Sensual Spiderman, a well-known street performer in the area. They held a friendly contest to see who could execute the best flips. Speed managed a solid backflip, but Spiderman took the win with more advanced maneuvers. Speed also got the chance to try traditional Chilean foods like sopa de choclo and completos, visited the Fantasilandia amusement park, and even crossed paths with soccer star Arturo Vidal. While on his way to Chile’s Estadio Monumental, Speed’s car got surrounded by people setting off fireworks. Mistaking them for gunshots, he panicked and abruptly ended his live stream. It was one of those rare times you actually saw Speed look scared.
