The queen will always be the queen.
Selena Quintanilla was recently ranked by Billboard as the Greatest Female Latin Artist of All Time, and we are celebrating!
I’m sure you saw the Latin Billboards Music Awards on Telemundo, but what you may not know is that there is a whole week of events in which established artists, up-and-coming singers, and music industry executives get together to honor Latinx música y cultura, the Billboard Latin Music Week, going on from October 20th-23rd.
This time, the Tex-Mex queen ranked third in the “Greatest Latin Artists of All Time” list following Spanish pop music singer Enrique Iglesias and, ‘El Sol’ Luis Miguel. The only female artist before her ever to make it to the top 10 has been Shakira.
Pero, really, we’re here for it! Selena Quintanilla’s name, style, music, family – and even tragic death — has resonated with so many Latinos (and non-Latinos) around the world that we’re ready to celebrate every new accomplishment.
Selena’s official Facebook page celebrated her with this message:

“Absolute legend even in death! I’m part Mexican, non Spanish speaking but I grew up listening to Selena and still blare her music. I even got my little ones listening with me. If there was one person I wish I had the chance to see live it’d be Selena. These awards are most definitely deserved!,” said Facebook Fan Nicole Gonzalez.
