Selena and Johnny Depp Acted in a Movie Together: Watch the clip!

This year, one of the most commented artists has been Johnny Depp. Latest news is that he will come back to the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise after winning the trial he had against his ex-wife Amber Heard. But, besides the highly televised trial, there’s something creating buzz around the Hollywood actor these days, and it features our very own Queen of Tex-Mex, Selena Quintanilla. 

The Tejano interpreter and the ‘Jack Sparrow’ actor shared the screen in 1994, they were part of Don Juan DeMarco, a film about a psychiatrist, played by Marlon Brando, who worked on a peculiar case of a man battling depression, played by Depp. This was one of Depp’s breakthrough films.

Selena happily revealed her thoughts about the film in an interview about the film almost 30 years ago.

“It’s a short little piece. I’m a mariachi singer.”

In the film, the then 22-year-old singer serenaded the psychologist and his partner during a romantic dinner at a restaurant.

But Selena not only appeared in the movie. The Mexican-American singer performed as part of the soundtrack with four songs.

The queen of Tex-Mex not only had a passion for music. She also liked the acting scene. Let’s not forget the 90s was also the era in which Depp had breakout roles like Edward Scissorhands which coincided with the time acting caught Selena’s attention.

Selena was widely mentioned last year when  Selena: the series, a biographical production of the star streamed on Netflix, which made new generations get to know her tragic story.

Selena had big dreams of succeeding with her talent in every area of showbiz. And she sure did! ¡BRAVO!
