Red Bull Culture Clash 2022 | The Do-Over Wins!

A week ago, Latino sabor took over the Shrine DTLA as four of the West Coast’s biggest party crews flooded the auditorium with head banging sounds and vibrant rhythms that had the whole crowd jumping until the early morning!

Gasolina, The Do-Over, Subsuelo, and Recreo each dominated their respective stages in a battle for the ages. This particular battle was unlike anything I had seen before – the night not only included special performances, but also some very special guests. The performances included the legendary reggaeton duo Luny Tunes, DJ Tony Touch, Sky Rompiendo, Ape Drums, Los Rakas, Álvaro Díaz, DJ Playero, and DJ Blass. And as if that wasn’t enough, some West Coast legends pulled up and shut the place down, including Cypress Hill, Ying Yang Twins, Danny Trejo, Aloe Blacc, Xzibit, Don Chezina, Walshy Fire, Nina Sky, and even the USC Trojan Marching Band!

I cannot remember the last time I was in a room with more energy than what went down last Friday – pure electricity. And after three electrifying rounds, Subsuelo, Gasolina, and The Do-Over all had one last chance to take home the crown as best crew of the night in a nail-biting tie breaker. After a long night of tough competition, it was DJ Tony Touch and The Do-Over crew who finally sent the noise meter through the roof with their funky sounds from disco to dancehall, house to hip-hop, and soul to samba.
