In a Sunday night full of surprises, one of our favorite moments came when Jharrel Jerome won the Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Limited Series or Movie.

Jharrel won for his role as Korey Wise in the Netflix series “When They See Us,” which is centered around the falsely accused Central Park Five. This made him the first Afro-Latino to win an Emmy.

“When They See Us” also won for Outstanding Casting for a Limited Series and was nominated a total of 16 times.
