The Pink Cloud: a Movie About a Pandemic Filmed Before Covid

Luli Gerbase had a premonitory vision of what if humanity would have to lock themselves up due to a strange cloud that kills everything that touches. Sound familiar?
Shot before Covid, the movie follows this feminist and open minded woman, Giovana (Renata de Lelis) who all of a sudden finds herself trapped at her own house with a man she just had a one night stand with Tiago (Eduardo Mendoza).
We got to speak with Renata and asked her if this movie kind of prepared her for what was coming, she said “I don’t know if it prepared me, but it was definitely a déjà vu.” When talking about how this pink cloud changed Giovana’s life, de Lelis assures that it changed everything:
“Giovana was not the type of woman who wanted to get married or have kids. She wanted to travel, explore…and all of that changed with the Pink Cloud.”
The Pink Cloud really invites us to consider, both individually and as a society, how much we do or do not need physical interaction with nature and other humans and how isolation pays a toll on us. Maybe too soon to watch a movie about a pandemic while we are still living one, but otherwise, definitely a must-watch!
