The Sandman Hits the Screen Through Netflix: See who’s in the cast!

Neil Gaiman‘s dark fantasy comic book of the same name has landed on the list of Netflix shows. The graphic novel has come to life in a series of episodes to welcome everyone on Dreaming.

The Sandman cast is genuinely star-studded, with new faces and seasoned actors that portrayed their roles very well. Here are some of the main cast of The Sandman on Netflix

Tom Sturridge

Tom plays Dream or Morpheus, who rebuilt Dreaming, his dream kingdom after he escaped years of imprisonment. Being the king of dreams and nightmares, he summons the fantasies of humans as they sleep.

Tom Sturridge was known for acting in theater and received nominations for Tony and Olivier Awards. He was also seen in movies such as Velvet Buzzsaw and Journey’s End.

Boyd Holbrook

Boyd plays The Corinthian, the main antagonist who did a series of murders in the waking world as he escaped The Dreaming. He was a nightmare that is known to be created by Morpheus for a specific purpose.

Boyd Holbrook is an American actor who is known for playing Steve Murphy in Narcos. He also appeared in some Hollywood movies such as Gone Girl, and The Predator.

Vivienne Acheampong

The actress plays Lucienne, the chief librarian who kept The Dreaming under control while Dream was imprisoned. Because of her positive personality and good traits, she became one of the closest allies of Dream.

Previously, Vivienne was seen in The One and The Witches Remake. Some film critics believe that her role as Lucienne can bring her to the red carpet.

Gwendoline Christie

As Lucifer Morningstar, Gwendoline’s character became the ruler of hell, the devil who oversees punishments of people who have sinned. Lucifer is known to be the fallen angel that became rebellious against God. In The Sandman series, Lucifer is Dream’s other enemy whose objective is to kill him as he entered Hell.

Game of Thrones Brienne of Tarth was Gwendoline’s blockbuster role in the entertainment industry. She also appeared in some blockbuster movies such as Hunger Games: Mockingjay and Star Wars sequel.

Patton Oswalt

Oswald voiced the character of Matthew the Raven. Matthew was a human until he died and became a raven which acts as an advisor to Morpheus.

With his excellent voice, Patton Oswalt also became the voice for Remy in the 2007 Pixar hit Ratatouille. He is also a stand-up comedian that has been famous in different comedy clubs in America.

Mason Alexander Park

Being Dream’s sibling and Despair’s twin, Park’s character, Desire sees their brother as a rival. Her relationship with Dream is not as good as it seems because of their cruel actions as androgynous.

Park was known for their portrayal of Gren on one of the Netflix shows, Cowboy Bebop. Park started appearing in theaters where they eventually decided to get into the big screen.

Donna Preston

Donna plays Desire, Despair’s twin. She loves the feeling of despair from everyone including humans in the waking world.

Donna Preston appeared in Hard Cell, a comedy created by Catherine Tate. She was also seen on some tv shows such as Inside No. 9 and McIntyre’s Big Show.

After 30 years since its initial comic book release, the beloved DC comic The Sandman finally hits the screen through Netflix.
