LATV Presents My Health Agenda | Watch the Trailer!

As LGBTQ+ people experience many inequalities and barriers in regards to health care, LATV is proud to launch My Health Agenda providing its audience with resourceful information and interviews with LGBTQ influencers who are sharing their stories in order to educate, inspire and empower about health topics, stigmas and myths. This series not only features members of the LGBTQ+ community, but it is also a product of LGBTQ+ creatives behind the scenes as well. From the production design by Ves Phillippi, to the artwork by Tevy Khou, Ledesma Vazquez and Vasilios Papapitsios, and the direction by Andres Palencia, My Health Agenda is fully powered by queer creatives.

We invite you to get to know our special guests Erick, Curly, Jennifer, Dr. Ourian and Vasilios who share their personal, insightful and informative journeys to help us share a common message of encouragement, hope, and love. We want you to feel empowered to take the important steps that bring you closer to your own definition of “healthy.” In this series, we will combat stigmas and myths, quell fears and amplify love and positivity by being real about health in the LGBTQ+ by discussing HIV status, sobriety, mental health and even culture. Through anecdotes and stories from their own lives, guests on My Health Agenda will share their journey, learnings and challenges on their path to becoming leaders and contributors to the LGBTQ+ community.

Get to know the My Health Agenda cast!

Erick Velasco: Also known as “The Homo Homie,” originally from El Monte, California. He is one of eight siblings and a first-generation Mexican American. Erick is an established individual who is well-rounded in the arts and is known as a triple threat.  His ability to connect with people, regardless of his sexual preference, has opened doors to allow room for safe spaces wherever he’s been. He’s not afraid to help others understand his LGBTQ+ brothers and sisters and is helping to bridge that gap by creating inclusivity and creating allies. He’s a Guncle (Gay uncle) to his teenage niece.

Jennifer Rodriguez is a Latinx Transgender Woman. Born and raised in Los Angeles. Jennifer’s real passion is recovery and helping individuals struggling with addiction find recovery. Through her lived experience she wants to make a difference for the Transgender community because when she was trying to get clean, there was no representation in the recovery community.

Curly Velasquez is an actor, content creator and artist who celebrates all things Latinx and beautiful. He began his career in fashion working for celebrity photographer David LaChapelle, and design icon Jeremy Scott before starting his own line. By the age of 25, he was celebrated as one of the “IT” designers in LA by H&M and directed a music video for Interscope records. Curly produces and appears in BuzzFeed’s Latinx division: Pero Like. You can also see Curly on Starz’s VIDA (Seasons 2 and 3) and Netflix’s documentary Mucho Mucho Amor.

Vasilios Papapitsios is an HIV-positive filmmaker and artist blending genres and blurring boundaries at the intersections of advocacy, education and entertainment. Vasilios is here to tell stories and usher in the next era of filmmaking. They are here to bring awareness with integrity, to heal trauma with a light heart. Ultimately, Vasilios is here to change fear-based rhetoric in style, through empowerment and social equality.
