Mexican Filmmaker’s Directorial Debut ‘Gatlopp’ Hits Records on HBO

When your half a million dollar movie ranks in the top 10 of HBO Max Worldwide as number 10 and quickly move to number eight, competing with 100 million dollar blockbusters, you know you made a gem. Especially on these days where there is so much content that half of it gets lost in the streming world. And that’s the case with Alberto Belli’s Gatlopp, Hell of a Game.

“It’s crazy to think Gatlopp is in the top 8 worldwide and top 5 in Mexico, a movie with a tiny budget competing with giants like Morbius or Fantastic Beasts; all organically,” said Alberto Belli, the director of Gatlopp to LATV.

This very contained, sci-fi, dark comedy, was shot at the beginning of the pandemic and released on HBO Latin America on June 22nd. Here is the USA you can catch it on Itunes!
