Melissa Barrera and Jenna Ortega Geek Out on Being Part of ‘Scream’

Melissa Barrera, Jenna Ortega, Jack Quaid, Marley Shelton and Mason Gooding form the new and younger generation of Scream. The successful franchise that originated in 1996 comes back for a whole new movie with a series of brutal murders in Woodsboro.

The new cast meets the originals, Sidney Prescott (Neve Campbell), former Sheriff Dewey Riley (David Arquette) and reporter Gale Weathers (Courteney Cox) to find a way to stop the killer – and everyone is a suspect. 

“I have so much respect for all three of the original actors, David, Courtney, Nev, so to be able to witness first-hand the character makes this experience feel a lot more real. I know every day we come on the set we’re like ‘Oh my God, guys we’re shooting the Scream movie’,” says Jenna Ortega, a big fan of the franchise who is now part of the cast. 

As the deaths pile up, Woodsboro’s newest victims must seek help from the survivors of the original Ghostface attacks. The energy was definitely a great one on set as the new actors do right by the iconic story!
