Meet Stefni Valencia – A True “Get it Girl”

Stefni Valencia is a strong fiery woman that embraces her culture, femininity, and empowers other women and young girls to do the same. She has a great personality and a sincere smile that is welcoming to all who encounter it. She is a multidisciplinary artist who not only sings but is a composer, voice over artist, event and radio personality. We wanted to get to know Stefni a little more, so we asked her some personal questions. Her answers were so powerful and empowering we had to share them. Stefni is a true “Get it Girl!”

Growing up Latina —> What does it mean to you?

“Growing up Latina is like having a super power. We love hard, we show it in our words, our songs, our food, and our embraces. To me, it’s memories made with all my Familia – there is music, drinks, food, and of course, laughter and storytelling.  Laughing out loud, singing my heart out, and living life like there is no tomorrow; that is what growing up Latina means to me. I was raised to be a strong guerrera rebelde. Through the hard truths about life or a life lesson from their experiences, my Familia keeps it real.”

Is there someone in your life who helped mold who you are today?

“My Nana is the person who helped mold who I am today. My Nana was one of the strongest women I knew and she was my best friend. At 3 years old she treated me like her equal! I got to hang out with her girlfriends on their coffee dates, and fun senior outings. She raised me to be an innocent little old lady. My Nana always kept me in the loop and always made me a part of the conversation. She wanted to share with me as much wisdom as she could. She was a strong rebellious woman from the 40s; she endured discrimination, and a lot of heartache. My Nana proved there was nothing she could not do unless she decided. She once told me “You are petite, a minority, and a female – the world is going to try and use that against you so you need to be tough, because there is nothing you can’t do. You have nothing to prove to anyone but yourself. If you love yourself Mija, then you will never be alone.” Between her life lessons, and her classy 40’s “Rosie the Riveter” attitude, my Nana is still to this day one of the most inspiring women I know.”

What does it mean to you to be a get it girl host?

“Being a host on “Get It Girl” is a huge honor. I love empowering and uplifting my fellow Reinas. I have always said I never want to take a person’s voice away from them; I want to offer them the tools to find their own voice. I feel that being a host on Get it Girl gives me the platform to do just that. I love being able to raise my fellow queens because real queens fix each other’s crowns.”

We even had the opportunity to learn even more about Stefni at the Latin Grammys! Check out our interview with her in Las Vegas where she was pre nominated for 5 categories…
