Murray shares some unbelievably hilarious stories from his career. One of these moments was when he talked about a bizarre incident involving someone stealing a costume. He said, “He stole some stuff from my costume rack, in the hallway, and walked out, down the fire exit. So I come back and I go ‘dude, where’s my jeans and my shirts?’ So I do the show, I put on some other clothes, I have my jacket which no one took. Then I go back and look at the cameras from a few days ago and I’m like ‘I know I didn’t take them home, I don’t wear my costumes at home.’”

He then added, “So I have the security go check the cameras, he goes back three days, and this person stole my shirt and jeans and went out the fire exit. That’s why he never came back with the stuff because we would have seen it. And I was even there, in the other room. And then, two days later he comes back when no one’s there, like 2 in the morning, sits on the couch, and decides to find himself love. But yeah, we are a very giving show.”

Who is Murray the Magician?

Murray’s journey to becoming a top magician is equally fascinating as his career itself. Born in Burnaby, British Columbia, Canada, he started early with swimming and golfing at age 3 and learned to play the accordion, keyboard, and saxophone by age 5. By 7, he was doing ballet, Ukrainian folk dances, swing, and break dancing. He wanted to be an entertainer like Dean Martin and Johnny Carson; however, it was a Siegfried and Roy magic kit gifted to him by his aunt and uncle that sparked his passion for magic.

Murray had over 21 different jobs as a teenager, from a busboy to a lifeguard, all while entertaining people with his dance and music. He studied Broadcast Communications and Journalism, which helped him in his career. Mentored by Marvyn and Carol Roy, known as “Mr. Electric,” Murray developed a unique magic act with Compact Discs, earning him the title of “World Champion.”

His talent has taken him from theaters in Monaco and Paris to the legendary Playboy Mansion. Recently, he received several awards, including The Hollywood FAME Award for his contribution to Magic on TV and the LA Comedy Award for Best Comedy Show. Murray currently has a resident show at the Tropicana Hotel in Las Vegas and regularly tours worldwide!
