Meet Bernie Martínez: Bad Bunny’s Brother Is Taking Over Fashion Week

In some families, talent just runs in the blood. And we all know the whole nepo baby conversation really well, where famous last names open doors without a lot of effort, yet some people make their own way with hard work, style, and an undeniable presence. That’s exactly what Bernie Martínez Ocasio is doing.
Sure, he’s Bad Bunny’s brother. But Bernie isn’t just tagging along in Benito’s shadow. He’s carving out his own path in the fashion industry, gracing the runways of New York and Paris showcasing work by some of the most innovative designers around. And judging by his recent appearances at Fashion Week, we’re going to be seeing a lot more of him.

From Music Videos to the Runway: Who Is Bernie Martínez?
If you don’t know his name yet, don’t worry, you will soon.
Bernie first grabbed people’s attention back in 2020 when he made an appearance in Bad Bunny’s music video for ‘Yo Visto Así,’ alongside big names like Ricky Martin, Sofía Vergara, and Karol G. Since then, he’s been involved in some of his brother’s projects, but his career has definitely shifted towards high fashion, and he’s absolutely thriving in it.
At 28 years old and standing at 6’2”, Bernie has the perfect model look: strong, confident, and effortlessly cool. He made his official runway debut in 2023, walking for Willy Chavarría at New York Fashion Week for the Spring/Summer 2024 collection. At the time, few people knew he was Bad Bunny’s brother, but fashion insiders immediately took note of his presence, attitude, and natural runway skills.
Bernie Takes Over Fashion Week
Fast forward to 2025, and Bernie Martínez is no longer just “Bad Bunny’s brother, “he’s becoming a name of his own in the industry.

During New York Fashion Week, Bernie strutted his stuff for Mexican designer Patricio Campillo, sporting a gender-fluid ensemble that pushed back against conventional fashion rules. Campillo’s brand has gained massive attention for its political messages, like the ‘Golfo de México’ shirt, a direct clapback at Donald Trump’s idea to rename it the ‘Gulf of America.’
Next, in Paris Men’s Fashion Week, Bernie made his mark again, walking again for Willy Chavarría. The show took place at the American Cathedral in Paris, a powerful setting for Chavarría’s Chicano-inspired collection. He wasn’t the only Latino in attendance, J Balvin and Valentina Ferrer were also there, proving that Latino culture is taking over high fashion.

His recent appearance was during the Calvin Klein Fashion Show, where he sat front row along with Benito. Bernie wasn’t just walking the runway, he was also sitting alongside some of fashion’s biggest names, and watching his former sister-in-law, Kendall Jenner.
Bernie has already done what many models dream of: walk in New York and Paris Fashion Week, work with top Latino designers, and earn a spot in high fashion circles. But this feels like just the beginning.

With the growing influence of Latinos in the fashion industry, it wouldn’t be surprising to see Bernie become a regular in major campaigns, magazine covers, and luxury brand collaborations. And knowing how Bad Bunny likes to push boundaries in fashion, we wouldn’t be shocked if the two brothers eventually team up on a project that fuses music and style.
