Cuban-Dominican Marcello Hernández is the Newest ‘SNL’ Cast Member

NBC Universal has welcomed Marcello Hernandez to the cast of Saturday Night Live for season 48. The Cuban-Dominican comic, born in Miami, will share the stage Along with Molly Kearney, Michael Longfellow and Devon Walker,
Marcello will make his television debut in the season premiere episode of the show, which will air on October 1 on NBC and will broadcast live on Peacock. The SNL live performances will still take place on October 8 and 15.
Hernandez posted a photo of himself on Instagram with a smile on his face and the caption, “Miami’s little Cuban Dominican kid is on SNL,” with a dancing emoji.
The Florida native, author and actor was chosen as Just for Laughs’ New Face of Comedy in 2022.
Marcello, best known for serving as the creative director of the scandalous lifestyle website Only in Dade, is now part of the cast for the 2022-2023 season.
Only three other Latino actors have appeared on the show: Melissa Villaseñor, of Spanish and Mexican descent, Fred Armisen, whose mother is Venezuelan, and Horatio Sanz, an actor born in Chile.
