In this much-anticipated episode, Kyo and Francia courageously share their own experiences as Afro-Latinx LGBTQ+ members. Their vulnerability and authenticity create a safe space for open and honest conversations about the challenges and triumphs of their unique intersectional identities. Through stunning visuals and powerful storytelling, “Fear of Flying” sheds light on the challenges faced by the Black Trans community, elevating their voices and experiences.
Fear of Flying – Short film from Mykhailo Dolgin on Vimeo.
My ultimate goal with this film is to heal first and foremost. I know that my healing will be lifelong, but I also want this to be a tool to help heal others. I want to be a voice and a beacon of light for all that can’t or don’t have the strength to speak. I want to change the narrative of what it is to be a transgender woman. I am so much more than meets the eye. So much more than just a label, or stereotype. I’m a multi-faceted individual, with a heart and emotions. I’m not exempt from the very things that make us human. I want to walk in my truth and own EVERY part of who I am. To love the WOMAN that I am unconditionally, even when it’s not easy. If anything at all, I want people to take with them the true power of love and empathy for all. To love one another and to give grace. And with that… I want to be free.” – Bianca Fairchild
