Latino Celebrities Who Call Miami Home

Miami has long been one of the favorite cities for celebrities to call home. If Los Angeles is synonymous with Hollywood, Miami has become the capital of Latin music and culture, a place where stars from across Latin America and beyond gather to live, work, and enjoy the lifestyle of the city. With nearly 70 percent of its population identifying as Hispanic or Latino, Miami offers a cultural closeness that has attracted countless famous names.

Icon Residents

Among the most iconic residents are Gloria and Emilio Estefan, pioneers of Latin pop who decades ago purchased their mansion in the exclusive Star Island neighborhood, where they built both their family life and their entertainment empire. Star Island has also housed legends like Madonna, Sylvester Stallone, and Julio Iglesias, adding to its prestige.

Not far from them is Marc Anthony, whose career has sold more than 30 million albums worldwide. In 2022, he acquired a luxury residence at One Thousand Museum, a futuristic tower with panoramic views of Biscayne Bay, where he now lives with his wife, Paraguayan model Nadia Ferreira.

The Montaner family has also made Miami their base. Ricardo Montaner has lived there for years with his wife Marlene, and their children Mau, Ricky, and Evaluna are frequent presences at the family mansion. Mau y Ricky even released a song titled “Miami” as a tribute to the city. Evaluna and her husband, Colombian singer Camilo, purchased their own home, known as La Colmena, located in Pine Tree Drive. With two floors, an expansive garden, and a fully equipped music studio, it reflects the couple’s creative spirit.

The arrival of Lionel Messi in 2023 further cemented Miami as a global celebrity hub. By joining Inter Miami CF, the Argentine superstar turned the city into an epicenter of world football, acquiring several properties in the process. His teammate Rodrigo De Paul and singer Tini Stoessel have also settled in Miami, sparking media attention with rumors of an upcoming wedding.

Retired Argentine footballer Sergio “Kun” Agüero bought a $15 million mansion in Hollywood Beach, chosen for its privacy and waterfront location, where he now lives with his partner Sofía Calzetti. Miami has thus become not only a playground for musicians and actors, but also a home for athletes reinventing themselves beyond their careers.

Other global icons have maintained strong ties to the city. Jennifer Lopez has owned several homes in Miami, including a mansion in North Bay Road, while Ricky Martin has a residence in Golden Beach.

Shakira, after her separation from Gerard Piqué, relocated to Miami in 2023 with her children Milan and Sasha. Her North Bay Road mansion features six bedrooms, seven bathrooms, a gym, a pool, and a private dock leading to Biscayne Bay. For Shakira, Miami represents both a personal fresh start and a professional hub, as the city continues to be a vital center for the Spanish-language music industry.
