Latinas Leading the Womb Energy Conversation

Latinas Leading the Womb Energy Conversation

During ancestral times, women used to be very connected to their cycles and their womb energy. But not just women, the men in those tribes also respected and admired that feminine energy. In modern times, the word “womb” is immediately associated with the female reproductive organs. But the womb is not just an organ, it is an energetic space where magic and creating happens. So if you had a hysterectomy or have male reproductive organs, you can still benefit from womb healing. It is for everyone. For those who identify as men, we call that “Hara” instead of “Womb.”

What exactly is womb healing?

The Womb Space acts sort of an emotional closet. We toss there all the feelings we can’t process and if we don’t address those later on in life, they will manifest as some sort of misalignment; PCOS, irregular and painful periods, infertility, endometriosis, cancer…so it is essential we take the time to acknowledge that wonderful and sacred space and start treating it with the love that it deserves.

There are 4 Latinas who have been pioneers in this subject. Let’s take a look at them:

The first one is Livia Rincon, a Venezuelan psychologist and writer who from a very early age saw things no other people saw. We can say she is a good “bruja” and after suffering an abuse as a girl, she seemed to help other women who had suffered trauma. El lenguaje oculto de tu útero: entenderlo te hará sana, próspera y feliz is her latest book where she dives in into the power of your intuition and how wounds leave a mark in your skin and life. Livia talks about how each woman lives in a constant fight state against herself and how to turn that around from that powerful entity that creates life, your womb. A must read!

We also have Anabel Vizcarra, The Womb Shaman who is empowering women to embrace their feminine embodiment. In 2009, after a series of crises (divorce, business bankruptcy and a great deep hole of debt) that left her broken, confused, and empty, Anabel was forced to look at the way she had been living her life. And it was during this time, when nothing seemed to make sense and everything had crumbled, that a question emerged from the depths of her soul: “What will I teach my son about what is valuable for a fulfilled life?” That question led her to the life she has now, as a successful coach, speaker and mentor to hundreds of women about how to reclaim their power back. She studied Ayurveda, Womb Shamanism, Gene Keys, Somatic Psychotherapy training and Epigenetic & Quantum Studies, and turned her life around. Check out our episode with her on Get it Girl.

We also have Certified Sex Educator, , who helps women understand their sexual desire and not be ashamed of it. In the Latin community, women have felt “sucias” (dirty) for wanting to have sex and she is helping to end that stigma.

Last but not least we have Gina Castellanos. As a Mexican writer, actress, host and producer of her podcast Yo, Mujer. Gina is filling up a space much needed for menstrual awareness and empowerment as opposed to menstrual shaming. Her book, Menstruacion Consciente tackles all the misconceptions and stigmas associated with periods and how she dismantles those.
