Latina Pop Stars Are Owning 2025 and We’re Obsessed

Latin pop is officially making a comeback, and Latina stars are at the forefront. While reggaeton and música Mexicana have ruled the charts over the past few years, a new wave of female artists is infusing Latin pop with fresh energy, blending nostalgic sounds with modern beats.
From Argentina to Mexico and beyond, these women demonstrate that Spanish-language pop is here to stay. Some of them have been around for a while, while others are just starting, but they all share one thing: They’re taking ownership of 2025.

When it comes to embodying Latin pop nostalgia, Belinda is a standout figure. The Spanish-Mexican singer became a teen sensation in the 2000s with hits like “Bella Traición,” and her role in “The Cheetah Girls 2” only cemented her icon status. Recently, after dedicating some time to acting and other projects, she’s making a notable comeback.
Belinda recently signed with Warner Music and made a surprise appearance at Vive Latino as a guest performer with Los Ángeles Azules. And that’s just the beginning. Belinda’s been in the studio working with Natanael Cano and Peso Pluma’s collaborator Tito Doble P, hinting at more music to come. She’s introducing her new sound as ‘corridos coquette,’ and quite frankly, we’re excited for what’s next.

Danna Paola has been in the spotlight for what seems like forever, but she’s just now coming into her own. She first turn heads in Mexico with her roles in telenovelas (soap operas) and later gained international recognition with Netflix’s Élite.”
Musically, she’s dabbled in just about everything: reggaeton, Latin pop, and even house music. Her 2022 hit “XT4S1S” became a major anthem, and she followed it up with the synth-pop track “Tenemos Que Hablar,” where she opened up about taking charge of her career. Last year, she released “Childstar,” a bold and experimental Latin pop album. Her latest tracks, “Nada es para siempre” with Santa Fe Klan and “1Trago,” showcase her embracing a more edgy and personal sound.

Argentina has been a hub for trap and reggaeton, but Emilia is showing that pop can also thrive in the scene. She’s been gaining traction for a few years, but her latest album, .MP3, has elevated her status significantly. The album, drawing inspiration from 90s and 2000s pop, combines Y2K aesthetics with contemporary beats, earning her a spot on GRAMMY.com’s 25 Artists to Watch in 2024.
Tracks like “GTA.mp3” (bringing to mind Kylie Minogue) and “La_Original.mp3” (a house-infused collaboration with Tini) add fun and nostalgia to Latin pop. And she’s continuing to release hits. She’s already put out “Bunda,” “Vestido Rojo,” “Olvidarte,” “Novio Gangsta,” “Alegría,” and “Blackout” with Tini and Nicki Nicole, hinting at another album on the horizon.

Kenia Os is a standout among the new wave of Latina pop stars. She started her career as a YouTuber and influencer before transitioning into music, and now, she’s one of the most buzzed-about artists in Mexico. Her 2022 debut album, ‘Cambios De Luna’ combined Latin trap, reggaeton, and pop, but it was her second album, ‘K23’ that went global.
Her song ‘Malas Decisiones’ went viral on TikTok, and the visual album even earned her a Latin GRAMMY nomination. She hasn’t stopped there. Her latest album ‘Pink Aura’ is pushing Latin pop to exciting new heights, blending dreamy synth tones with irresistible dance beats. And don’t overlook her personal life since, after hinting at her collaboration with Peso Pluma, ‘Tommy & Pamela’, they confirmed they are in a relationship. She’s also just dropped ‘Una Nada Más’ with Los Ángeles Azules, showing her talent in fusing pop with other Latin music styles.

But she’s not just about the hits, she’s consistently expanding the horizons of Latin pop. Her latest album, ‘Milamores,’ dives into hyperpop, reggae, and tropical rhythms, with tracks like ‘tqum’ featuring Danna Paola (and a remix with Kim Petras).
She even experimented with healing frequencies in some songs, crafting music that’s both chill and uplifting. One of the standout tracks, ‘Luna,’ takes listeners on a dreamy trip to the moon, while ‘Gaia’ infuses a reggae feel and feel-good vibes. Since then, she’s been releasing singles like ‘BI’ and ‘Guaro con Ron’ with Alan Walker.
