Latina Health and Healing Advocate Speaks at Bhakti Fest 2024

Diana Cantu-Reyna is a registered nurse, healthcare advocate, and founder of a healthcare non-profit, who works toward destigmatizing  holistic health practices and spiritual healing within Western medicine.

This year, she will be hosting live workshops at Bhakti Fest.

Bhakti Fest, founded in 2009, is a transformational festival taking place in the magical high desert of Joshua Tree, CA, Sept, 27t-29th. It brings together a devotional community for a weekend filled with kirtan music (this year’s headliner is the renowned Krishna Das), yoga classes, breathwork, sound healing sessions, spiritual and wellness workshops, and much more, including Cantu-Reyna’s talks on “Reclaiming the Healer Within” and “Food as Medicine: Intuitive Brewing.”

Please check out our conversation here for @LNDocs where we cover everything from the essence of Bhakti Fest to her work in healing.

“In my perspective, we are in the midst of a public health crisis that is not only about the wellbeing of caregivers, but the overall health and safety of our communities at large. As we continue to see caregivers (doctors, nurses, social workers, therapists, etc.) leave the profession as a result of their own struggle to maintain sanity within the extractive system that is our current healthcare model, we will feel the impacts even more viscerally given our interconnectedness. The question now is, do we have the will to create a new health paradigm that embodies and shares an ethos that is heart-centered for patients AND healers alike?”  – Diana Cantu-Reyna

Diana also shares articles and podcasts on her Substack focusing on spirituality in healthcare, cultural medicine, and conversations with caregivers from all walks of life.
