Meet the Latina Behind the Revolutionary Bra

Meet the Latina Behind the Revolutionary Bra

Stephanie Montes couldn’t find the perfect bra for her. As a fashion-design graduate turned fashion and beauty editor, she realized that duct tape was always the secret to going braless under plunging necklines and backless styles. However, that did not feel good on the skin while taking it off was quite painful, to be frank. So she created a revolutionary tape, that won’t strip your skin away and would make your boobs look amazing. The Brand Nue, a strapless bra that fits every woman, no matter your shape, shade or size.

Aside from the looks, there are two other reasons to purchase The Brand Nue – the environment and the proceeds donated to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation.

First off, let’s do some numbers. There’s something like four billion women on the planet, each who, on average, own eight bras. Down the line those bras need to be replaced and the old and used garments end up in landfills. Once they start to decompose those bras release methane, a harmful greenhouse gas that contributes to climate change. In addition, the rubber in the elastic bands can take up to 50 years to biodegrade, while synthetic fabrics like polyester and lycra remain on Earth for thousands of years. With all of that in mind, Nue made sure to work with The Bra Recyclers to reduce carbon footprint by donating bras to women in need.

The second reason, as mentioned before, is the percentage of all proceeds donated to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation.

There you have it! The solution to all your bra problems – it looks good, it’s good for the environment and it helps in the cancer fight! Plus, bonus points because it’s founded and operated by a Latina! If you still have doubts, please check our interview on Get it Girl and you’ll be fully convinced…
