Las Cafeteras – Social Change with Chicano Roots | Cultura Shock

Hector Flores and Denise Carlos of the chicano band Las Cafeteras have always used their music as an expression of Latin identity and social activism. The civic-minded music group continues to tap into the political climate with anthems such as “If I Were President” and a cover of Ray Charles’s “Georgia On My Mind.” Here they discuss grassroots social work, the mental health of our communities, and the ongoing battle for voting rights on LATV’s Cultura Shock.
