Stay Safe LA – Wildfire Updates: Resources, Evacuation Tips, and Ways to Support

Wildfires in Los Angeles County are wreaking havoc and continue to pose grave risks to locals. Five lives have been lost, over 2,000 buildings have been either destroyed or damaged, and more than 130,000 people have been ordered to evacuate. The Palisades Fire and Eaton Fire are the most concerning, with fierce winds driving their relentless spread. Firefighters are tirelessly battling the flames day and night, but it’s an uphill battle given the tough conditions, including wind gusts reaching up to 100 mph in some spots.
Current Situation
The Palisades Fire has burned nearly 3,000 acres since it started and forced over 30,000 residents to evacuate. Windstorms are making things worse, with strong winds expected to continue for several days. Emergency teams are focused on keeping residents and firefighters safe while trying to protect homes and infrastructure.
The Eaton Fire, in the Altadena hills, has burned over 200 acres, also prompting evacuations. Officials are urging everyone to stay updated and be prepared to act fast if evacuation orders are given.
