Meet Papá G
Music has always been in her blood, thanks largely to her father, who is also a musician. His support ignited a passion for singing at a young age. When she was just five years old, Guillermo enrolled her and her sister Jessica in singing lessons, nurturing by their father’s guidance.
Guillermo would later become Karol’s first manager. For many years, he guided her through the ups and downs of the music industry, always encouraging her to keep pursuing her dream, regardless of the difficulties and hardships she had to face.

Karol has publicly acknowledged many times that without her father’s relentless belief in her, she might not have become the artist she is today. One of the most touching moments between them happened at the 2018 Latin Grammy Awards, when Karol brought Guillermo on stage to receive her first Grammy, tearfully crediting him for 99% of her career.
Even though Papá G no longer is her official manager, he continues to be present at every important moment in her life and career. She would bring him on stage for a second time during the 2023 Latin Billboard Awards to celebrate her winning five awards and often emphasizes the special bond they share, recounting how he stood by her side when she nearly quit music during a challenging period in her early career. According to Karol, her father would often tell her, “If it costs you a thousand, they’ll give you a million.”

Her mother, Martha Navarro, has also been a central figure in Karol G’s life and a constant source of love and support, although she isn’t as publicly visible as Guillermo. She is active on social media, where she proudly shares photos of Karol’s achievements, and fans frequently comment on the striking resemblance between mother and daughter. Martha played an essential role in the family’s survival, having worked as a waitress during Karol’s childhood to help support her daughters.

Karol G’s three sisters Verónica, Jessica, and Katherine also play important roles in her life.
