A Sneak Peek of J Balvin’s New Official Live Performances

J Balvin gives the Latinx community a fantastic Hispanic Heritage Month gift as he teams up with Vevo to release four Official Live Performances off of Balvin’s latest album, Jose! Jose by J Balvin was released on September 10, 2021, and it marks his sixth studio album. His first studio album, Familia, was released during the summer of 2013, and he’s still doing his thing 8 years later! This isn’t Balvin and Vevo’s first rodeo, they actually released their first series of official live performances with “Azul,” “Negro,” “Rojo” and “Amarillo” from the album Colores last year. This new collaboration puts New York at the forefront, so shoutout to the East Coast, which has undeniably found a special place in Balvin’s heart!
What makes Jose different from all his other albums? Well, for starters, this album contains more songs than any other studio album that he’s produced! On Jose’s album cover photo, you get J. cheesing across the frame with “Happy to see you” engraved on his sunglasses, and he mentions, “This album is very important to me. I felt like I just wanted to make songs that I would want to hear as a music fan, as Jose, not J Balvin.” Well with 24 songs (more than an hour worth of uninterrupted good vibes!) J. nos ha dado con que gozar todo este mes de los Latinxs!
These are the four exclusive song performances to look out for:
-
Suerte
Suerte, the 17th song on the album, was released September 14th, and features El Don J on top of a Brooklyn rooftop! Vevo states, “Originally from Medellín, Columbia, Balvin worked closely with Vevo to construct a world as honest and authentic as his music is, centered around a city that has quickly become his second home.” Okay New York, we see you stealing hearts!
-
Que Locura
Have y’all ever heard of the pick-up line: Ay yo mami, do you ever get tired? Tired of running through my mind all day! Those are the exact vibes emanating from the 8th song of the album, as Que Locura explains just that – la locura del amor. Vevo mentions “Que Locura was shot on the edge of the East River in Williamsburg, the chill vibe of a Brooklyn summer evening in full effect”. This location specifically adds “A juxtaposition of gritty and polished, flashy yet understated, Balvin sings with a group of friends and makes the city his stage.”
-
Fantasias
Fantasias, the 12th song on the album was released September 21, 2021 (peep the numerology) and it’s all about living in each other’s fantasies! I’m so surprised Balvin is a Taurus because he’s giving me serious water sign energy. I would know – I’m a Pisces – and a daydreamer to the max. Fantasias has been the flashiest presentation of the series thus far with four fresh Ferraris flanked on Balvin’s sides, and the majestic lights of the Manhattan skyline against the dark night.
-
Ganas de Verte
Ganas de Verte is the 14th song of the album, and it will be the last release of the series! What can we expect? For sure all of Balvin cool Ferraris, and as with all his other exclusive videos, a sick skyline view. I am hoping that this video will feature a sunset in the background, just to add some romance to it all! Keep an eye out – this video releases the last week of September 2021 and you can find it via Vevo’s Youtube Channel.
You can also check out more of Vevo via their two channels, Vevo Latino and Vevo Reggaeton & Latin Trap, on TV platforms like Pluto TV and Samsung TV Plus!
