J Balvin Gets the ‘Agente de Cambio’ Award for his Efforts in the Mental Health Space

Global superstar and entrepreneur J Balvin received the ‘Agent of Change’ Award from Premios Juventud, given for his efforts to break the stigma of emotional and mental health. The award ceremony, which took place at Coliseo José Miguel Agrelot de Puerto Rico, recognizes the best in Latin music, social causes, and pop culture. Following this news, the creative wellness app OYE, co-founded by Balvin, announces that it will reinforce his commitment, allocating $1 million to the production of content by Latinx wellness creators.

The Colombian artist was presented as one of the most nominated, but also with a great humanitarian work done. His efforts to defend mental health and his creative innovation made J Balvin worthy of recognition. It was also announced that the ‘Agente de Cambio- J Balvin’ scholarship will be created.

OYE is a creative wellness platform that helps users fuel their creativity and become the future. OYE encourages the same cultures and communities that supported Balvin in his rise to world star; calling on more Latinx creators to share their wellness practices through the app.

“Creative wellness invites us to transform emotions into creative actions. I believe that Latinx creators can help the world feel better and create a future full of possibilities. That is the purpose of OYE, and the reason why we’re investing in Latinx wellness creators.” – J BALVIN

The idea for OYE is inspired by Balvin’s desire to help people overcome obstacles similar to the ones he has gone through. The Grammy®, Billboard, Latin Grammy® and MTV Video Music Award nominated artist has shared his experience with mental and emotional health through different media. Unfortunately, this topic is still considered taboo in much of the Latino community and in many cultures around the world. Through OYE, his own experience has become the driving force behind innovation, turning a personal journey into a platform that will transform the lives of millions of people around the world.

The OYE app will launch in September of this year, offering creative wellness practices from bilingual creators representing a wide variety of Latinx cultures. Latinx creators who want to be part of the creative wellness movement can apply at OYE.co/creators to become OYE Creators.

Users who register on the OYE page before the launch of its app in September will receive a free 1-year membership to access OYE’s bilingual content on emotional well-being.
