Is “Black Lives Matter” Banned at Tokyo Olympics?

There’s confusion and anger boiling at the alleged reports coming out about BLM being “Banned” at the Olympics. While there is no outright ban, punishment in place or rule that outright forbids athletes and participants in the Tokyo Olympics 2021 from wearing Black Lives Matter apparel or gear, it has been confirmed that athletes who choose to express themselves could face some sort of disciplinary action.

According to the Associated Press, they were able to confirm that there will be a ban on demonstrations on the field of play, during an official ceremony and at the podium.

“…to preserve the podium, field of play and official ceremonies from any kind of protest or demonstrations or acts perceived as such.”
