Immigrant Heritage Month Fights For Awareness

Immigrant Heritage Month Fights For Awareness

This month, Poder Latinx will celebrate immigrant heritage by highlighting member stories and continued work around the expansion of 2020 voter outreach programs in Florida, Georgia and Arizona. The aim of these efforts is to build a larger pro-immigrant presence in the U.S. as we move into 2022.

The month’s agenda will balance the celebration of these stories while calling for action on a permanent pathway to citizenship for all immigrants and bringing awareness of these issues to the electorate. For these events, Poder Latinx will be partnering with local and national organizations to ensure that our voices will help uplift other diverse organizations doing this work everyday in order to truly make the changes needed for our community.

“Celebrating immigrant heritage is something that we do every day at Poder Latinx. It’s important to highlight the incredible immigrants on our team and inform our community about what can be done to improve conditions for immigrants living in the United States,” said Yadira Sanchez, Co-Executive Director of Poder Latinx.

“Our diversity is what makes us strong. We invite folks from diverse walks of life to join our events and learn about our experiences and how they can take part in pushing congress to act on a pathway to citizenship now,” said Esteban Garces, Co-Executive Director of Poder Latinx.
