Holistic Nutritionist and natural beauty expert, Jessica Rose, walks us through her recipe for a healthy, easy-to-make smoothie bowl for glowing skin. The key ingredients include strawberries, blueberries, bananas, cauliflower, chia seeds, flax seeds, and cinnamon!

We are breaking down every little health benefit from each ingredient in the recipe below:

Strawberries: High in Vitamin C, a cofactor for the synthesis of collagen production. They’re also rich in vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants to encourage healthy glowing skin from within.

Blueberries: High in antioxidants that can neutralize free radical damage to support healthy, graceful aging from within.

Bananas: Rich in potassium, to combat the signs of free radical damage and aging. It also helps to flush out any water weight in your body.

Cauliflower: Adds a nice creaminess to the smoothie as well as adding vitamin C, potassium, and fiber all of which help to promote healthy glowing skin from within. If you don’t like cauliflower you can substitute it with half an avocado.

Chia Seeds Pudding: Made with coconut milk. Rich in omega-3 which helps to nourish your hair, skin, and nails from within. They are also a healthy fat to plump up your skin to help fight the signs of fine lines and wrinkles.

Flax Seeds: Give a nice boost of healthy fats, omega-3, and fiber.

Ceylon Cinnamon: Considered true cinnamon. It is very high in antioxidants and helps to stabilize your blood sugar which is key when you are having a smoothie with a lot of fruit. You won’t keep your blood sugar stabilized to support your mood and your beauty at the same time.

Collagen Powder: A healthy protein, which helps to support your beauty and your blood sugar. Collagen is what your skin is made of so it will help to plump up the signs of fine lines and wrinkles. It also helps to support graceful aging, your digestive health as well as your mood.

Coconut Flakes: Healthy fat.

Pro tip: Did you know that putting your smoothie in a bowl is a great way to remind yourself to chew your smoothie? When we chew there are enzymes in our mouth that are produced that are called lipase and amylase. These enzymes help to break down fats and carbohydrates to help support a healthy gut and aid in digestion.
