Get it Girl’ Mother’s Day Special: Celebrating Motherhood

Mexico and El Salvador are already celebrating Mother’s Day, so we don’t want to wait until Sunday to start celebrating mamas worldwide! Because mamas deserve more than just a day.

On today’s episode of Get it Girl, our hosts Britni Camacho, Stephanie Elyse, and Aliyah Orozco talk about their worries about becoming mothers one day, given the lack of support moms have in this country. With only six weeks of maternity leave and very expensive childcare, the new generation of working women is delaying and, in some cases opting out of motherhood more and more. The Girl Talk segment also includes a session where the hosts share moments of their working moms raising them and how they appreciate them.

On today’s episode, we also feature a new segment of Mami Got This, our mom-centered show, where a group of Latina moms shares how it is to work and raise kids simultaneously —and let me tell you; it’s not a walk in the park!

Some of these moms are entrepreneurs, others are employees, and none can afford (or choose to give up their careers, which is equally valid) to become housewives. It is a complicated balance we as women need to find now.
