GALIFF Kicks Off Celebration of Latinx Independent Filmmakers

The mission of the Georgia Latino International Film Festival, which kicks off September 30th to October 3rd, is to bridge cultural understanding, encourage artistic development and excellence by provoking thought through film by bringing the best of Latin America cinema to Atlanta, Georgia. In its tenth year, GALIFF continues to present the film industry with a singular platform that fosters creative and technical talent from the Latinx community.
Latinx celebrities participating in this year’s event includes Esai Morales, Cheech Marin, Edward James Olmos, Eva Longoria, Michael Pena, Oscar Torre, and Director Raul Julia, to name just a few.
The main motivation behind GALIFF is the fact that Latinos now have a purchasing power higher than 1.7 trillion annually and we are attending more blockbusters and entertainment venues than any other ethnic group, according to Motion Picture Association of America. In other words, we are a crucial part of any successful business strategy.
