From Vogue to Vlogs: Mario Adrion opens up about his life on The Big Deal

Meet Mario Adrion: Runway model turned YouTuber and comedian
German-American comedian, YouTuber, and former fashion model Mario Leon Adrion has graced the latest episode of The Big Deal at LATV, available exclusively on the LATV+ App. Adrion is internationally known for his distinct charisma, his comedic talent, and his modeling gigs with big names like Tommy Hilfiger, Gucci, and Calvin Klein.
Born in the town of Alpirsbach in the Black Forest region of Germany, Adrion’s rise to stardom began when he was scouted on Facebook at the age of 18, leading to his debut in New York Fashion Week. From there, his career soared, landing him features in Vogue and appearances on prominent shows such as Jimmy Kimmel Live! and ABC.

But while Mario’s story started with the glitz and glamour of the fashion world, it didn’t stay there. He decided to make a radical change in his career, transitioning from modeling to comedy and vlogging. He found his niche on YouTube, where on his channel he blends humor with storytelling, all while taking viewers along with him on the realities of the fashion industry.
In 2020, he moved to Los Angeles to make videos with his best friends Travis Bryant, Jeff Kasser, and Jiaoying Summers. It was during this time that he began appearing in different comedy clubs doing improv and stand-ups.
In 2021, he participated in American Idol, wearing a Speedo and participating in a catwalk battle with Katy Perry. Meanwhile, in his podcast, UNCENSORED with Mario Adrion, he has regularly collaborated with comedians and influencers Godfrey, Jiaoying Summers, and Peet Montzingo.
Mario Adrion on The Big Deal
In this episode of The Big Deal, Adrion talked about his engagement to film actress and fashion stylist Veta, which happened while he was performing stand-up comedy in her hometown of Chicago, in front of her family and friends. The couple tied the knot two weeks ago in Las Vegas, exactly four years after meeting each other.
On a funny note, he shared: “My fiancée likes that I’m shirtless all the time. She is even my photographer, she takes photos of me in Speedos. I got this calendar called the Bromance Calendar, which is basically me in Speedos with some other dudes. And she helps me shoot the photos.”
Adrion displayed his knack for imitating foreign accents as well. Continuing in his signature comedic style, he talked about the seductive power of the French accent versus the perceived harshness of the German one.
“Nobody has ever been seduced by a German accent,” he stated, then flattered our host, Dakyta, on her Argentinian accent. “There’s passion in Latin languages. It’s like ‘mmm, señora, mmm’ but German it’s just like ‘ja, guten tag, ja’. It’s very harsh,” he laughed.
The conversation turned a bit more serious when discussing his pansexuality, stating “I don’t like labels. I’ve kissed a guy before. I’m engaged to a woman. But I think that we men, or just in general, we should care less about labels and just start living our lives. Because every time you put a label on yourself, it puts you in a box and it comes with expectation. So I just like to think that I’m just me.”
