A Step-by-Step Guide to a Flawless New Year’s Makeup Look

New Year’s Eve is around the corner, and we need to receive the 2024-looking FAB!
For this special occasion, we joined forces again with the talented makeup artist Kate Chavez to bring you the best glam for the holidays!
This look is one of Kate’s favorites: a soft, smokey eye. It only takes 15 minutes! How perfect is that?
Here is Kate’s step-by-step:
Soft smokey eye using cranberry and earth tones
This look is perfect to pair with a red or nude lip, and I promise it looks perfect on everyone! And as Kate told us, “It’s giving strawberries fresh summer girl vibes but in the wintertime.”
Step 1
The face: Ensure you’re hydrating your skin before applying makeup. Use anything you have to give that extra glowing skin.
*Pro tip: Kate loves to mix Saie Beauty Glowly Super Gel into the moisturizer to boost the skin glow.

Step 2
Even the skin tone: After your skin is perfectly hydrated and ready, apply a lightweight formula skin perfector like Danessa Myricks beauty balm all over your face to even the skin tone. Following with a concealer only where you need extra coverage.

Step 3
The brows: Brush your brows with a brow gel. Kate recommends Makeup by Mario Brow Gel in clear. After you brush them, fill them in with a brow pencil or brow powder.

Step 4
The eyes: This is Kate’s favorite part! Start by using an eye primer on both eyes. Her number one choice is ‘Cover Girl Clean Canvas Eye Shadow Primer.’
Follow that with a neutral brown shade on top of the eye. Next is a cranberry shadow or liner to go as close to the lash line as possible.
After the shadow/liner, you want to smudge the cranberry shade with a brush or Q-tip. This will help give that smokey look. You can also line the lower lash line and smudge it out to provide a more intense look.
Finish eye the look with your mascara of choice.
Step 5
Bronzer:
Now is the bronzer’s turn! During winter, Kate likes to do a little more Blush than Bronzer, but it’s up to you what you prefer.
Finish the look with a soft nude or cranberry-toned lip.
Congratulations, you’re done and looking gorgeous!
