Finally: A Soccer Cleat Actually Made for Women

For the first time in soccer history, women finally have a cleat made for them: not just a smaller, pinker version of a men’s boot. And leading the charge is none other than U.S. Women’s National Team star Trinity Rodman.

Adidas and Rodman have teamed up to launch the F50 Sparkfusion, a cleat that marks a seismic shift in how women are seen, supported, and equipped in the world of professional soccer. This isn’t just a performance upgrade. It’s a cultural correction.

For years, women athletes have had to deal with discomfort, injuries, and poor fit from unisex cleats designed for the male foot. The message? Make it work. Trinity and Adidas had other ideas. Starting with the most extensive foot-scanning research ever done for women’s soccer, Adidas engineered a cleat from the soleplate up, tailored specifically to the shape and structure of the female foot. The result: better fit, better control, better speed and less compromise.

Built for a narrower heel, higher arch, and more precise midfoot lockdown, the Sparkfusion isn’t just a tool: it’s a weapon. For every player who’s double-socked, sized down, or limped off the field, this is the revenge arc.

And the design is pure Trinity. Dressed in a pearlescent white base, the boot features bold pink Three Stripes that call back to Rodman’s signature long pink braids. Light blue accents run from the heel counter to the collar, echoing her style on and off the pitch. A hot pink “F50” graphic blazes across the forefoot, announcing its arrival with the same unapologetic energy Rodman brings to every game.

“Growing up as a kid in California, I could never have imagined a day where there would be a cleat literally inspired by me,” Rodman shared. “It makes it even more special knowing it’s a cleat built by, and for, female soccer players. I can’t wait to wear them.”

Rodman debuted her Player Edition cleats on August 3 during a match between the Washington Spirit and Portland Thorns, aired live on ABC. It was the perfect stage for a cleat that speaks volumes beyond its technical specs.

The Sparkfusion is a statement. It says women’s soccer is not a subset. It’s not an afterthought. It’s a force that deserves its own gear, its own spotlight, and its own icons.

With this release, Adidas isn’t just making footwear. They’re making history.
