Everything We Know About J-LO and A-Rod’s Split

The tea has been boiling since way before Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez officially decided to part ways as of April 15 via a joint statement to ET. The pair sadly called it quits after a two-year engagement and four years of dating. Keep reading because the tea gets HOTTER.

The singer and former baseball player had known of each other since 1999. Lopez had signed a picture for the young Seattle Mariners baseball player. Rodriguez, still love struck decades later, posted the signed picture on Instagram captioning it with,

“Tbt to almost 20 years ago when a big time global pop superstar signed a pic for a young ball player #LifeCanBeAFunnyThingSometimes #PicturePicture #KeepSake #JLO.”

The two would later meet again in real life in 2005 at a Yankees game alongside her then-husband Marc Anthony, 48, who was rooting for the Mets. Lopez, of course, was a die-hard Yankees fan.

“We have realized we are better off as friends and look forward to remaining so,” the statement reads, “we will continue to work together and support each other on our shared businesses and projects. We wish the best for each other and one another’s children,” the former couple said of Rodriguez’s daughters, Natasha, 16, Ella, 12, and Lopez’s 13-year old twins, Emme and Max.

“Out of respect for them, the only comment we have to say is thank you to everyone who has sent kind words and support.”

Hours before the statement, Rodriguez posted a video shrine of the two throughout the years with the song “Fix You” by Coldplay on IG, tagging Lopez in the post, completely putting us in our feels.

JLO GOODBYE

Although the baseball player posted a heartfelt goodbye, it’s clear that Lopez has her own feelings towards the situation, as she should. DEUXMOI, the Instagram account that shares anonymous tips about A-Listers, shared on their story J-Lo’s like on the poet, R.H. Sin’s account. “Don’t make her think you care when you have never given a f*ck about her,” the quote says.

The celebrity gossip account also shared an email sent to them earlier in March 2020 after the rumor of their split first happened.

The email reads, “Alex Rodriguez and Jennifer Lopez are 100000% finished,” and continues to say that “Jen is way too high-profile to allow him to embarrass her like this,” specifically speaking about Rodriguez’s rumored romance with the “Southern Charm” reality star, Madison LeCroy. “So, they will back peddle and wait for more time to pass until they can split ‘amicably.'”

“Don’t believe the reports that they’re committed to “working on it,” the e-mail continues. “She’s finished with him. He’s a serial cheater, yes, but her kids adore him and his kids.”

Let’s also not forget about Lopez’s Instagram post after the first split rumors came to life, where she strutted her God-gifted features and talent…in case anyone forgot who the hell Jenny from the block is.

And that’s the energy that we’re here for and signing this article off with. We’re not picking sides, but we stan a Queen!
