Who is Who in ‘Euphoria’ – Meet the Cast of the Hit HBO Series

Euphoria has become one of the biggest teen dramas in the last two years since its premiere. Now, with a new episode airing every Sunday on HBO, the hit series has put the spotlight on many fresh and familiar faces. The Euphoria cast is full of talented actors and actresses who have all displayed their skills proudly on screen. As we all know, the award-winning hit new streaming series has exploded in popularity and is taking social media by storm…but who are they? Here are a few facts about the infamous Euphoria cast that has turned this teen drama into a sensation.
RUE – Zendaya
Since her time as a child star on Disney’s Shake It Up, KC Undercover, and Zapped, Zendaya has been forging her way in the entertainment industry. Her career as a musician, dancer, actress, and model has put Zendaya on the radar for many top brands and businesses who want to work with her. Euphoria has become her biggest achievement yet, and in 2020, Zendaya received an Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series. She is a force of nature in this show playing a girl who battles insecurity, addiction, and a strained relationship with her mother.
JULES – Hunter Schafer
When Jules moves to town, she and Rue become best friends; however, as Rue’s drug problem worsens in season 2, they have a huge falling out and have a difficult time picking up the pieces. Born in Trenton, New Jersey, Hunter Schafer aspired to be a model early on in life. Schafer planned to attend an arts college to pursue her artistic endeavors but later changed her mind in pursuit of achieving her dreams in the modeling industry. The year Euphoria aired, Hunter Schaefer broke into the acting industry and soon after began modeling for high-end labels such as Prada, Tommy Hilfiger, Calvin Klein, and more.
CASSIE – Sydney Sweeney
Sydney shines as Cassie, playing a troubled teen who struggles with identity and self-actualization, all while having to deal with an alcoholic mother and being “too pretty” for her own good. Having starred in a Netflix series called Everything Sucks!, Sweeney has solidified her place in the entertainment industry for quite some time. Her debut in Euphoria has brought more attention to her career as a whole, opening up even more opportunities in the entertainment industry.
LEXI – Maude Apatow
Lexi is Cassie’s younger sister and Rue’s level-headed childhood friend who tries her best to support Rue through her struggles. She is the eldest daughter of filmmaker Judd Apatow and actress Leslie Mann. Apatow began her career playing the daughter of her mother’s characters in her father’s films such as Knocked Up, Funny People, and This Is 40.
MADDY – Alexa Demie
Known for the boldest makeup looks on the show, Alexa Demie has been around for years. From cameos to solid roles, and even a music career, Alexa Demie chose to become an actress after living with her mom and watching the work she put in for years to keep her home life stable. Alexa Demie has now become an influential household name due to Euphoria’s explosive breakthrough on social media and also because of the many looks that have since inspired more creative looks in the makeup industry.
NATE – Jacob Elordi
From being cast as a sweet boyfriend in The Kissing Booth on Netflix to now becoming Euphoria‘s most complex character, Jacob Elordi has always been into theatre for a long time. His influence on screen has not gone unnoticed as his flexibility to pursue different roles has pushed Elordi into the acting scene. Many fans were shocked to see Elordi take on a darker role in Euphoria, but ultimately loved the acting that he has displayed in the hit teen drama.
FEZCO ‘FEZ’ – Angus Cloud
Originally believing that a talent agent was scamming him, Angus Cloud was born in Oakland, California, where he originally went to school with his co-star, Zendaya. Due to his portrayal of Fezco, a soft-spoken and extremely likable drug dealer, the actor has gained much attention within the last few years – with many even claiming that he is a doppelganger for the late Mac Miller.
ELLIOT – Dominic Fike
Elliot, a “homie” character who finds himself in the midst of a heated love triangle with Jules and Rue, is played by 26-year-old Floridian singer/songwriter and musician Dominic Fike. Although he was originally intended to star in Euphoria season 1, the part that he had originally auditioned for was ultimately excluded from the show. He was subsequently asked to star in Euphoria season 2 and agreed to the role. He describes Elliot as having a lot in common with his real-life self and as a necessary character who acts as a catalyst for many of the events in the show.
FAYE – Chloe Cherry
Faye, a heroin addict who ends up being taken care of by Fez due to a twist of fate, is played by Chloe Cherry. She first appears in the first episode of Euphoria Season 2, in which she went along with Fez and Ashtray to confirm a drug deal with a formidable gang. In the second episode, she is shown as a fugitive after she accidentally murdered a man and therefore has to sleep at Fez’s house for a while. Although she and Fez seem to have a good friendship, it could pose a potential threat to Fez and Lexi’s developing romance.
Before Euphoria season 2, Cherry was known for working in the adult industry since age 18.
LAURIE – Martha Kelly
Stand-up comedian and actress Martha Kelly stars as Laure, a powerful and stoic drug dealer who is incredibly difficult to read. In episode 3, Rue attempts to make a deal with Laurie to become a dealer for her, an offer which Laurie reluctantly accepts. She fronts Rue $10,000 worth of drugs in a suitcase, which then ends up being discovered by her mother after a secret intervention planned by Jules.
Kelly is otherwise known as a stand-up comedian, as well as having appeared in the FX comedy series Baskets, and playing Nancy Katz in Marriage Story and Gloria in Corporate Animals.
FEZ’S GRANDMOTHER – Katherine Narducci
Opening the first episode of Euphoria season 2 is Fez’s grandmother, played by renowned actress Katherine Narducci. Narducci gained recognition from her role as Charmaine Bucco, Artie Bucco’s wife, in the hit TV show The Sopranos, as well as her role as Carrie Bufalino in The Irishman.
In Euphoria season 2, as fans would expect from Fez’s troubled background, his grandmother is a drug dealer who simultaneously loves and cares for all of her grandchildren.
