Emma Caymares, the Standout Latina on ABC’s New Comedy

Call Your Mother, is a fun-feel-good comedy about Jean, an empty-nester mom, who wonders how she ended up alone while her children live their best lives thousands of miles away. She decides her place is with her family, and as she re-inserts herself into their lives, her kids realize they might actually need her more than they thought.

Celia is a sassy Latina who is dating Jean’s son, Freddie, and unlike Celia’s thousands of followers, Jean doesn’t seem too impressed with her…and we all want to be liked by our mother-in-law, right? (At least in the beginning…)

Celia is played by the half Nicaraguan/half Cuban actor, Emma Caymares, who has had a recurring role on the hit FX series “Fosse/Verdon,” starring Michelle Williams and Sam Rockwell, as well as an exciting guest star role on “Law & Order: SVU.”
