Emily Uribe, TikTok dreams and Y2K flashbacks on the newest episode of ‘Get it Girl!’

In a new episode of Get it Girl! on LATV, hosts Britni Camacho, Stephanie Elyse, and Aliyah Orozco sat down with TikTok sensation and media personality, Emily Uribe, to discuss making dreams come true on TikTok, as well as revisiting some Y2K fashion trends.
In this episode, the girls explored trends that were cool in the early 2000s that won’t stand the test of time today. Later, they engaged in a deep conversation with Emily and wrapped things up with the segment “Been there, so you don’t have to: Dating edition.”
The hosts kicked off the beauty trends segment by reminiscing about early 2000s eyebrow trends, specifically the ultra-thin brows that once dominated the scene. Aliyah Orozco recalled how she would spend an eternity drawing them on but emphasized that this trend is a definite no-go in today’s beauty world.

They then introduced Emily to the episode. Born on February 1st, 2000, in Salinas, California, Emily Uribe is one of the biggest influencers on TikTok, known for her hilarious sketches, particularly those where she pretends to be interviewed on popular talk shows. With over 950,000 followers, Emily has become one to watch. Her TikTok about Riverdale, posted in December 2021, racked up over 1.4 million views, making it one of her most significant videos to date.
The conversation then took a hilarious turn as the trio played the Y2K Game of Dos and Don’ts with the TikTok star. Emily Uribe gave a “Do” to velour tracksuits, claiming they make her feel like the “baddest b****.” She also gave a yes to apple bottom jeans but mentioned they are too expensive. Continuing with nods to the iconic Flo Rida song “Low,” Emily expressed her desire to wear “boots with the fur” so she could “walk in the cold in New York City feeling like a Bratz Doll.”
As Emily talked in depth about her TikTok journey, she shared, “It was really unintentional. I started posting videos at the height of the pandemic. TikTok was the mecca for new talent, and when I hit 400k followers, I started realizing, ‘Wow, it’s really cool.’ I never thought I could do something like this, I thought I would do the tradition of going to school, working my way up, working like a producer or assistant, and now I’m my own boss, which is really cool”.
Later on the show, the hosts then introduced the dating segment titled “Been there, so you don’t have to, dating edition,” where they discussed red flags and shared their dating dos and don’ts.

Stephanie emphasized the importance of trusting one’s intuition, recalling instances where ignoring her gut feeling led to regrettable experiences. Britni Camacho cautioned against getting too drunk on a date, emphasizing that it can lead to undesirable outcomes.
The dating advice continued with Aliyah Orozco highlighting the significance of trusting your gut in relationships. Stephanie stirred some controversy by advising against the fake wallet reach, asserting that any man needing that ego stroke is not worth it: “I take a little sip of my drink like you pretend you don’t even notice the bill.”
The hosts concluded the dating edition with practical advice, urging viewers not to use going to the bathroom as a cop-out, to be selective with their energy, and to avoid early dates at apartments. They also emphasized the importance of setting boundaries and not letting anyone pressure you into situations you’re not comfortable with.
“If a man is inviting me to his house or he’s coming to mine, the perception is that you’re gonna sleep together, or that is an option, and it’s not an option,” Stephanie concluded.
The episode airs Wednesday, February 7th at 4:30 PM PST / 7:30 PM EST on LATV Network or Watch the full episode on LATV+ !
