In a quiet corner of Washington state, far from the bustling energy of Los Angeles or the rhythmic heartbeat of Mexico, Delilah Cabrera’s story began. Her hometown of Wenatchee wasn’t known for producing Latin music stars, yet it became the unlikely birthplace of a voice destined for an international stage. It was there, amid mariachi rehearsals echoing through school hallways and the festive chaos of small-town fairs, that Delilah discovered her calling.
Growing up in a community steeped in Mexican influence, Delilah was surrounded by music from an early age: school choirs, mariachi programs, and the ever-present hum of rhythm and melody. Her connection to music deepened after the loss of her grandmother when she was just five years old. The loss left a void, and Delilah turned to music as a way to cope and feel connected to her.

Initially, she began writing and singing in English, the only language she knew at the time, hoping her grandmother could hear and understand her melodies from wherever she was. But as Delilah grew older, she learned Spanish (her father’s native language) to write songs that felt closer to her cultural roots and her grandmother’s memory.
Her passion for the stage emerged early. She studied violin and piano, joined her school’s choir and mariachi band, and performed at local events around Washington. Everything changed the night she performed with her school’s mariachi group at the Puyallup State Fair. When the crowd began chanting her name, something clicked. For the first time, she felt seen, understood, and supported. It was then that she realized music wasn’t just a dream, it was her destiny.

Delilah seized every opportunity that came her way. From singing the national anthem at community events to posting covers online, she treated each moment as a step forward. Her big break came when a collaboration with a friend’s group went viral on social media, catching the attention of Los CT Records, founded by her idol Natanael Cano. At just 16, she became the first female artist signed to the label’s Mexican regional division. Soon after, she also signed with Interscope Records, marking the beginning of her professional career.
Her debut single, “Amor Perdido,” released in early 2024, introduced audiences to her fusion of R&B, corridos tumbados, and regional Mexican sound. She followed it up with “Modelo” and “Entre la Maleza,” solidifying her reputation as a fearless young voice redefining the genre.

Delilah’s artistry extends beyond her music. She’s intentional about surrounding herself with strong, creative women who inspire and collaborate with her. Working with all-female teams on her videos and visuals has become a vital part of her process, a celebration of empowerment and solidarity in a male-dominated industry. That focus on community and connection reflects her own journey of growth, resilience, and self-expression.
Her experiences also led her to Mexico City, where she met Cano, Gabito Ballesteros, and Yahritza Martinez, encounters that further deepened her understanding of the Latin music scene. Mentorships with artists like Becky G helped shape her confidence and creative identity, bridging generations of women making their mark in Latin music.
Touring with Ivan Cornejo exposed Delilah to new audiences who quickly fell in love with her soulful performances. Each night, she transformed curiosity into connection, her authenticity resonating with fans who saw their own stories in hers.

Now 18, Delilah Cabrera is stepping into a new era. Her latest single, “La Peli,” captures her evolution, blending the softness of R&B with the storytelling of regional Mexican music. It’s an emotional, cinematic song that reflects both her roots and her growth as an artist. The track marks a creative turning point, signaling that Delilah isn’t just the future of Latin music but she’s already shaping it.
