Born on March 12th, 2004, in Palm Springs and raised in the Coachella Valley, DannyLux’s music journey was shaped by both his Mexican heritage and being exposed to diverse musical styles. His father, a sanitation worker, brought home a discarded guitar when Danny was just seven years old, which ignited his passion for music. Though he initially dreamed of becoming a professional soccer player, his love for music eventually took over, especially when he discovered the regional Mexican genre during the pandemic.

DannyLux began his ascent to fame on social media, where he gained attention by uploading covers of popular songs, earning 2 million followers on TikTok and Instagram, respectively. However, his big break came when he opened for Coldplay during their A Head Full of Dreams Tour in Mexico in 2022, which catapulted him into the spotlight, leading to collaborations and hit singles that resonated with fans across the globe.

His collaboration with Eslabón Armado on “Jugaste y Sufrí” in 2021 topped Billboard’s Latin Songwriters chart, cementing his place as a talented songwriter and musician. His signing with Warner Music Latina in partnership with VPS Music was another milestone in his blossoming career.

DannyLux drops new album, DLUX, and starts US tour

The past year and a half have been particularly eventful for DannyLux. In April 2023, he performed at Coachella, bringing a little bit of Chicano music to the Valley, and, shortly after, he was honored with the keys to his hometown of Desert Hot Springs. June 2023 saw the release of his single “Zafiro,” featuring guitarist Pablo Hurtado, which would later become part of his new album, and he also collaborated with Cuban singer Ovi and Colombian singer Blessd on “Mientras no Vuelves.”

DannyLux’s latest album, DLUX, dropped just days after the release of these collaborations and features 17 tracks with a variety of guest artists, including Gabito Ballesteros, Eslabón Armado, Yami Safdie, and Jordyn Shellhart, and his collaboration with Cuco on an extended version of “Decir Adiós Oye Narrador.”

The album’s release was followed by more singles, including “Bórrame” with Mexican singer Kurt, “Sustancias en Mi Corazón” with Chilean singer Strangehuman, and his collaboration with Becky G on her album Esquinas. In January 2024, he also released the single “Un Día Entenderás,” followed by the deluxe album EVOLUXION in March, which includes updated tracks like “Maldito Alcohol” and “Ciudad del Sol.”

DannyLux isn’t afraid to experiment with his sound. While he’s known for his corridos tumbados and regional Mexican music, he has also begun exploring other genres, including house music, inspired by artists like Skrillex and Fred Again. He experimented with his first EDM song “House of Lux,” part of his latest album, but then just recently released the single “Soltera,” produced by 8onthebeat, representing this new direction and showing a more relaxed and festive rhythm compared to his usual themes of love and heartbreak.

As he continues to evolve as an artist, DannyLux announced his Ambición Tour, a series of concerts across 11 cities on the East Coast and throughout the Midwest of the United States.

Stay tuned, we’ll be going in-depth with DannyLux on LatiNation’s Storytellers to discuss his journey, his latest projects, and what’s next for this rising star in the Latin music world.
