Cuco Announces Ridin’ Tour Across the U.S. and Europe

Cuco is hitting the road again and, this time, he’s Ridin’. The tour supports Cuco’s latest album Ridin’, released on May 9th via Interscope Records. The record is a love letter to Los Angeles and modern Chicano culture, blending elements of dreamy psychedelia, soul, and Latin influences. It’s Cuco’s most ambitious and emotionally resonant project yet.

Teaming up with producer Tom Brenneck, known for his work with Amy Winehouse, Bruno Mars, Sharon Jones & the Dap-Kings, Cuco embraced a more organic and soulful sound. He recorded many of the songs on tape, elevated his vocals with a neo-falsetto range, and leaned into classic arrangements with horns, flutes, and retro vibes. Songs like “My 45” (featuring Jean Carter and a video starring Xóchitl Gomez) and “ICNBYH” (“I Can Never Break Your Heart”) capture the nostalgic and romantic tones of Ridin’ while honoring Cuco’s Hawthorne roots and musical upbringing.

Cuco (real name Omar Banos) rose to fame after uploading his lo-fi hit “Lo Que Siento” in 2017. A self-taught musician from Hawthorne, California, Cuco built a reputation for his bilingual, genre-blending ballads rooted in Latino identity and Southern California culture. With Wannabewithu and Songs4u, he became an underground favorite, later signing with Interscope and dropping Para Mi in 2019 and Fantasy Gateway in 2022.

He has cited influences ranging from mariachi and cumbia to jazz and bossa nova, with his parents’ musical tastes playing a key role. His third album, Ridin’ feels like a culmination of these sounds, channeling AM radio nostalgia, soul classics, and car culture with lyrics that balance heartbreak, romance, and youthful memories.

“Everybody listens to music when they’re driving,” Cuco says of the inspiration behind Ridin’. “You’re ridin’ through the motion of your life where nothing is linear. All of my songs here are romantic, whether that’s in a super-animated way or sad and heartbroken.”

This tour is a full-circle celebration of culture, community, and the coming of age. Whether you’re new to Cuco’s music or a longtime fan, Ridin’ is a journey worth taking.
