Comedian Dana Moon Reveals the Origins of her Viral Character “Mango the Healer” | The Big Deal

Stand-up comedian, character actress, and writer Dana Moon recently opened up about the birth of one of her most viral characters, the raver girl “light worker” known as “Mango the Healer.” Known for her character-driven, physical, and over-the-top comedy style, Dana Moon has become a rising star in the entertainment industry.
Moon, often compared to a young Carol Burnett by a famous comic, has a diverse resume with appearances on major TV networks such as Netflix, Fox, MTV, Oxygen, Facebook Watch TV, and Hulu. Her journey in comedy began at the University of Southern California, where she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Theatre without resorting to pretending to be on a rowing team.

After college, Dana honed her skills in improv at The Groundlings, where she birthed memorable characters such as Duke Ellington, Empty LA Girl, Dirty Diane, Sandy, Janelle Waters, and The Hoarder Lady. Encouraged by her teachers and classmates, she ventured into stand-up comedy, quickly making a mark in the Los Angeles comedy scene. Dana has completed five national tours and recently embarked on a USO Military Tour.
Her TV credits include leading the Oxygen channel’s Straight up with a Twist and appearances on MTV’s ADD TV and Fox’s The Real. Moon made her stand-up TV debut on Laughs on Fox, currently available for streaming on Hulu.
