Cazzu Is the Most-Streamed Female Artist on YouTube Right Now
The Argentine artist Cazzu has just made history. With her video “Con Otra,” the singer from Jujuy not only surpassed Lady Gaga in global views on YouTube but also became the most listened-to woman on the platform this year. So far, the video has amassed over 176 million views, surpassing Lady Gaga’s “Abracadabra,” which had 172 million.
This achievement positions Cazzu as the most viewed female artist globally on YouTube for 2025, with “Con Otra” currently holding the fourth spot among the most viewed videos of the year, regardless of gender. This milestone solidifies her rise in the international urban scene and reinforces her nickname: ‘The Boss.’
Released on March 19, 2025, “Con otra” is the third single from her album “Latinaje,” an eclectic project that blends tango, bachata, corrido tumbado, and cumbia santafesina. Produced alongside Nicolás Cotton, the track stands out for its sober and nostalgic sound and lyrics filled with emotional recriminations. For many, the song is seen as a response to the relationship between Ángela Aguilar and Christian Nodal, Cazzu’s ex and father of her daughter Inti.
“I don’t wish you harm, but he will cheat on you with someone else,” sings Cazzu in one of the most talked-about verses. The lyrics continue with lines like “You’re guarding yourself from the wrong one” and “I’m not your enemy; your enemy is the one sleeping in your bed,” fueling speculation about its personal significance. A gesture that further fueled the conversation was from Belinda, also Nodal’s ex-girlfriend, who shared the music video on her Instagram stories with the message: “Incredible! The boss. Great song.” This nod was interpreted by many as an act of solidarity among women who have gone through similar experiences, and it generated a wave of positive reactions on social media.
It’s worth remembering that when she started her relationship with Nodal, Cazzu faced criticism for the short time between their romance and the singer’s breakup with Belinda. For months, she was labeled as the third wheel. However, the years went by, and the mutual respect between both artists was solidified publicly.
“Cazzu is an amazing artist, I admire her a lot and I love her work, she’s beautiful,” Belinda said in an interview at Mexico City’s airport.
