La Casa de Papel’ (Money Heist) Season 5 Trailer is Out!

The end of La casa de papel: the theory that gives meaning to the entire series

Season five of La Casa de Papel premieres on September 3, this is the end of an era: the ‘simple’ heist has turned into a confrontation with the military.

The fifth and final season of the Netflix series will be divided into two parts of five episodes each, with the first batch premiering on September 3rd and the second batch on December 3rd, 2021. Btw, We’re not ready for this to end!

La casa de papel or Money Heist has been so successful that it broke records on Netflix, but if you already saw the eight episodes that make up the fourth season, you would realize that nothing was as we expected.

The final trailer of the first part shows what happens just after the end of the fourth season: Alicia Sierra catches the Professor and tortures him to extract information from him. She also lets the rest of the group know that her leader has fallen. The next step is for Colonel Tamayo to send the command of the army to enter the Bank of Spain by force.

At first, the fear among the group spreads, but Lisbon, Tokyo and Stockholm conspire to fight to the end.

In that first trailer we also see new faces in action, Miguel Ángel Silvestre and Patrick Criado, new to Casa de Papel, but not new to Netflix.

So why is the last season going to be divided into two parts?

Here’s the breakdown as explained by the creator of the series Alex Pina:

Casa de papel Season 5 1

“We decided to work in an extreme war genre and place La Banda against the ropes,” he said in an interview with Squire.

He also said they began to write the fifth season in the midst of a pandemic.

“We felt that we had to change what was expected of a ten-episode season and we tried by all means to generate a feeling of the end of the season or end series in that first part.”

Part two will be focused more on the emotionality of the characters, a journey through their sentimental map that connects us directly with them.

Money Heist has definitely been a fan favorite and a rollercoaster of emotions that will leave us heartbroken for some time. Until next time!
