Ca7riel & Paco Amoroso: The Argentine Duo Taking Over Tiny Desk and Coachella

Ca7riel & Paco Amoroso, the talented duo from Buenos Aires, Argentina, have already made their mark on the global music scene. With their unique blend of genres and electrifying performances, they’ve already conquered their home country and are now ready to take the stage at some of the world’s most renowned festivals.

This March, Ca7riel & Paco will be the sole Argentine representatives at Rolling Stone’s third annual Future of Music showcase, presented by JBL, during SXSW 2025. The event, scheduled from March 11–14 at ACL Live at the Moody Theater in Austin, Texas, will feature standout performances from artists like Benson Boone, Megan Moroney, Ivan Cornejo, Rema, and more. The duo is set to perform on Thursday, March 13th.

After SXSW, they’ll set off on a tour through several Latin American countries. Prior to performing in more than 10 U.S. cities, six European countries, and even Japan, they’ll make a historic appearance at the Coachella festival. Held annually in Indio, California, this iconic festival will showcase their performances on Friday, April 11th, and Friday, April 18th, 2025. Other headlining artists at the event include Lady Gaga, Missy Elliott, Benson Boone, and Prodigy.

These shows at Coachella will kick off their U.S. tour, with confirmed dates in Philadelphia, New York, Washington, Atlanta, Orlando, Miami, Dallas, Houston, and San Antonio, scheduled between April and May.

On Thursday, March 6th, they released their new EP, “Papota.” As a preview, they released the track “#TETAS” the previous Thursday, the first of four new songs on the EP. Additionally, they finally uploaded the eagerly awaited Tiny Desk Concert versions that had skyrocketed their popularity worldwide and were previously only available on YouTube.

“Papota” isn’t just an album; it’s an experience that includes a 16-minute short film directed by Argentine filmmaker Martín Piroyansky. The project features nine songs, with four being new and five recorded during their Tiny Desk performance. What truly sets this release apart is how the duo pairs their music with a satirical critique of the music industry.”

Tiny Desk Performance: A Worldwide Phenomenon

The duo’s global success took off after their Tiny Desk performance. In October 2024, they released a five-song set from their latest collaborative album, “Baño María,” for NPR’s iconic Tiny Desk Concert series in Washington, D.C.

Accompanied by a band, they delivered intimate and acoustic renditions of their hits, including “Dumbai,” “El único,” “Mi deseo/Bad Bitch,” “Baby Gangsta,” and “La que puede, puede.” In just 20 minutes, they showed why their music resonates so strongly: a mix of infectious rhythms, overwhelming charisma, and a unique stage presence. Their performance amassed over 27 million views, surpassing major artists like Billie Eilish and Sabrina Carpenter, marking the first step towards their global success.

Who Are Ca7riel & Paco Amoroso?

Ca7riel & Paco Amoroso is an experimental music duo hailing from Buenos Aires, Argentina, blending elements of trap, hip-hop, electronic, and pop. Childhood friends Catriel Guerreiro and Ulises Guerriero initially formed a rock band named Astor before transitioning to the urban music scene. Their initial music fused Latin trap with an experimental flair, distinguishing them from other emerging artists.

Their big breakthrough came in 2018 with viral hits like Jala Jala and Ouke, which solidified their position in Argentina’s urban music scene. Their live shows, supported by their “Atr Vanda” band, blended genres like jazz, rock, and house, making them a standout act. By 2019, they were headlining major festivals and wrapped up the year with a packed performance at Estadio Obras.

In 2020, the duo took a break, focusing on solo projects; Ca7riel released ‘El Disko’ and Paco worked on ‘Saeta.’ They got back together in 2022 for the ‘Paga Dios World Tour,’ marking their first international tour, with performances across Latin America and Europe. The energy of their live shows demonstrated their capacity to captivate audiences well beyond Argentina.

Their biggest leap came in 2024 with Baño María, their debut album as a duo. Featuring collaborations with Lali Espósito and Tini Stoessel, they launched it with a surprise performance at Lollapalooza Argentina, following it up with a sold-out show at the Movistar Arena. This proved they were now a significant force in Latin music.

In late 2024, their Tiny Desk Concert performance became a viral sensation, introducing them to a global audience. With their new EP already out and sets lined up at SXSW and Coachella, Ca7riel & Paco Amoroso are poised to take on the world.
